Can't compare Sachin with Don: Dhoni
Durban: Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that he doesn't like any comparisons between batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar and the legendary Don Bradman.
"I do not like comparisons between Sachin and Don as they played in different eras," Dhoni was quoted as saying by the Beeld on Thursday.
"There is no doubt that both are brilliant batsmen and...but Sachin has been around for two decades...the best in the world and had moreover throughout his career could adapt even with the demands of one-day cricket and more recently the Twenty20 version," he said.
Dhoni said Sachin's presence brings out the best in the team.
"He is the kind of guy who get the best out of with whoever he bats," said Dhoni.
"I was on the other side when he struck that 200 not out against South Africa in Gwalior," Dhoni said.
Sachin is the leading run maker with 14,513 runs in 175 Tests and 17,598 in 442 One-day Internationals. He recently completed 50 centuries in Tests at the Super Sport Park in the first Test against South Africa at Centurion.
Bradman, who passed away in 2001, holds the record of the best batting average of 99.94 in Tests.

'Sachin has sacrificed a lot':Arjun Ranatunga
Former Sri Lanka skipper Arjuna Ranatunga on Wednesday said that Sachin Tendulkar has sacrificed a lot to reach the pinnacle of success.
According to Ranatunga, Tendulkar is an iconic player who doesn't care about money and that is the main reason for his achievements.
Ranatunga said: "He (Tendulkar) is an icon. For him cricket is not a source of income. This is the secret behind phenomenal success and long career."
"Nowadays, young cricketers will do anything for money. They will even sacrifice their national duty for financial gains. The young lot should learn things from him."
Ranatunga also said that Tendulkar is the perfect ambassador and saviour for Test cricket.
"Test cricket is safe as long as Tendulkar is playing. Once he is gone, we will need more cricketers like him to save Test cricket," said Ranatunga.
Ranatunga called it unfair to compare Tendulkar with Sir Don Bradman.
He said: "Tendulkar and Sir Don belong to different eras. Sir Don was the best player in his era while Sachin is undoubtedly the best in modern era. Drawing comparisons is just not fair. Both are legends."
He added: "Sachin is a real gentleman. Despite his achievements, he is very humble and down to earth. I consider myself lucky that I have played against him."
About Tendulkar's retirement, Ranatunga said: "Let Tendulkar decide when he wants to retire. We should consider ourselves fortunate that we can watch him bat. After retirement, the cricketing world will need him even more to promote the game."

Sachin can do the impossible, deserves Bharat Ratna: Saina
NEW DELHI: Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal on Wednesday threw her weight behind conferring Sachin Tendulkar the Bharat Ratna, saying the iconic batsman is the most deserving sportsperson to receive the country's highest civilian award.
"Sachin is the best and he is capable of doing the impossible. He is getting younger with age and at his peak now I think he will keep playing for many more years. He deserves to get the Bharat Ratna," Saina told PTI.
"I am sure he will break many more records in future and become the most famous legend ever," she added.
Saina said she takes inspiration from the iconic batsman and hopes to reach an equally prestigious position in badminton someday in her career.
"Sachin is an inspiration. The focus and confidence with which he plays is amazing. Look at his performance, it is fantastic. He has played for more than 21 years and still every time he bats, he score so many runs," she said.
"I'm just a kid in front of him. But I want to do well in my field and may be in another 10-11 years, if I can win enough tournaments, I too might someday hope to win the prestigious award (Bharat Ratna)," she said.
Saina is currently nursing a ligament injury, which forced her to skip the Indian Open Grand Prix in Hyderabad and the Indian ace said she would be back to the court soon.
"It has been one week since I pulled out of Indian Open. The swelling and pain is still there. I am undergoing treatment, hopefully I should be fine soon," she said.
