Popular singers Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan and Suresh Wadkar have lent their voice to poems penned by late Ramesh Tendulkar, father of cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar.
"We are coming out with an album of Ramesh Tendulkar's poems and these singers are among those who have sung nine selected poems," Ashok Patki, well known music director-composer, told PTI.
The other singers include Swapnil Bnandodkar, Mandar Apte and Ajit Deval, Patki said.
The idea of bringing an album of Ramesh Tendulkar's poems was suggested by noted sports writer-commentator Dwarkanath Sanzgiri, he said.
The album would be released this month-end by Tendulkar, Patki said. He recalled listening to child Sachin sing a poem of his father.
The poems are about various moods - happy, sad and also about nature. A book containing 29 such poems would also be released along with the music CD, he said.
