Test cricket can never die.

What a thrilling day of test cricket! This was one of the most remarkable test matches I have ever seen. There we too many twists and turns in this match. Sometimes it seemed like it was heading towards tame draw but the pitch was really a perfect one for test cricket. It had uneven bounce in it and sharp turn for the spinners.

Every day Match was taking new turn. Till the end of the 3rd day just 2 innings were finished. And everyone was thinking about draw, but on the 4th day after 18 overs everything was looking different. India had Aussies all out in 192 & got the target of 216 seemed very little at the innings break but at the end of the 4th day India were 55/4 in the 2nd innings (SR Tendulkar 10*, Z Khan 5*, 17 over). The match which was looking draw it could go anywhere. Australia was favourite to win this test match. Sachin was on the crease so india’s hopes were alive. When sachin and laxman were playing india needed just 97 more runs and had 5wickets in hand. Everything was looking in india’s favour untill India lost two quick wickets after Sachin got out after playing a valuable knock of 38 runs (64 balls).

India required 92 runs with 2 wickets in hand. Very Very Special Laxman was the only specialist batsman and other two were Ishant Sharma and Pragyan Ojha.It was looking tough for india, many people may have lost hopes. but laxman played another very very special inning against his favourite team Australia. He won another match for india. we must not forget the contribution from Ishant Sharma who stayed on the crease for 106 minutes and score 31(92) important runs. When Ishant got out india required 11 runs more. Ojha was the last batsman. Aussies needed 1 wicket and india needed 11 runs.

People might have their hearts in the mouth when Ojha survived a LBW appeal which seemed out and india got 4runs of over throw. Tension was building up as india went closer to the target. One ball later Johnson bowled on the pads of Ojha. Ojha tried to flick but he got leg byes 2 runs and india completed a historic and nail biting match with 1 wicket in hand.

People thinking that test cricket will die must be reconsidering their thoughts. There were emotions, drama, excitement, wickets & runs everything in this match.

People still loves watching test series ie. Ashes, Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India-Pak battle, Nz-Aus Battle etc. Even the Last series between SL-Bangladesh produced very good cricket. Test cricket has seen 50 overs cricket and T20 cricket rising but it never affected charm and popularity of test cricket. Test cricket was, is, and will be the true cricket. It never died and it will never die.

For India it all depends on Sachin:Short review of Day 4 of Test match Between India vs Australia

India 405 and 55 for 4 (Tendulkar 10*, Zaheer 5*, Hilfenhaus 3-22) need another 161 runs to beatAustralia 428 and 192 (Watson 56, Ishant 3-34, Zaheer 3-43)

What a test match!!!A thrilling day of test match cricket. It's Worth to see the competition between the 2 top teams in test cricket. Now it’s confirm at the end of the fourth day in Mohali that there will be a winner. But it is tough to predicting which team. At the start of the 4th day most of the people were predicting draw, But in 19 over Ishant took 2 wickets & made the game alive.fine bowling from Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan and the Indian spinners set up a gettable chase of 216.In reply to 216 india loss 4 top order batsman in just 48 runs (Gambhir,Dravid,Sehwag,Raina). At the end of the day India: 55 /4 Sachin is still in the middle with night-watchman Zaheer Khan so india’s hope is still alive. For India it all depends on Sachin, VVS (if he is fit) and Dhoni to chase this down. Australia would be slight favourites as a couple of wickets tomorrow morning and they would be into the tail...Intreating Match.....

India need 161 runs, Aussies need 6 wickets, a half-fit Laxman and Dhoni to follow!

What do u think what will happen tomorrow?what’s your opinion?

I was actually expecting that Sachin might have retired by now. -Ponting

Mohali: If there is one cricketer that everyone looks forward to for a chat or an autograph, it is Sachin Tendulkar.

Despite a police escort to the pavilion on Thursday, when a group of young cricketers requested to pose with them for a photograph, he quickly joined them.

Journalists too hover around him for a quick interview or at least a comment. And whenever Tendulkar speaks, it becomes the lead story of the day in Indian newspapers.

Tendulkar was in a jovial mood when he attended the unveiling of Team India's new jersey. When asked how he felt playing his 170th Test match, he surprisingly turned philosophical: "There are ups and downs when you complete a circle of life ... that's what has happened in my career."

What does he attribute as the main factor behind his success? "First and foremost, I don't want to take anything for granted. I have worked hard over the years to be part of the Indian team. The key thing is to continue to work hard and try and get better each day of the life. Also, I make sure I enjoy every moment of what I try to do." On his race with Ricky Ponting, Tendulkar said: "I don't like to talk about records. I will keep scoring runs."

So on Thursday evening when one got to meet Ponting who has scored 12,026 runs, he was asked about his race with Tendulkar. he said, "As far as me chasing Sachin is concerned, I was actually expecting that he might have retired by now. He's 37 and obviously still playing very well."

Short review of 1st day of 1 st test &Sachin tendulkar's photos

Day 1 Australia 224 for 5 (Watson 101*, Ponting 71, Zaheer 3-45) vs India

1st day of the 1st test between top two teams of test cricket was not most fascinating but surely it promised top class cricket for the rest of the series.

1st session belonged to Aussies as Rickey Ponting and Shane Watson had a nice partnership after losing first wicket early. Though Watson and Ponting both had their chances, Watson’s inning showed good determination and Ponting was at his aggressive best but got run out in the second session.

After Lunch, India struck back with the wickets of Ponting and Clarke. This changed the whole complexion of the innings as Michael Hussey and Watson went into their shell. For close to 20 overs, they struggled to score any boundary.

However, Watson registered his 2nd hundred and it seemed that he and Hussey would guide Aussies to safety but the slow rate of scoring allowed Zaheer's reverse swing to take full impact on the Aussies. He accounted for Hussey and North as Australia battled it out in the final session. India managed to restrict Australia to 224/5 by the end of the day.

So at the end of day it is advantage India and they need to take remaining aussie wickets in the first session of the second day. Hero of the for India was Zaheer Khan who brought India on the driving seat with his superb last spell of the day.
