he made it to the India team. "There are others like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag and MS Dhoni, who told me I could score a Test hundred. I thank them all. Now I know how it feels to get a hundred. I was really thrilled. More than the hundred, it saved the Test."
Harbhajan showered praise on VVS Laxman too. "I was just supporting him. He was the reason I got my hundred. He kept saying I am batting well and just had concentrate over by over. He deserves more credit than me." The second Indian specialist spinner to score a Test century in this millennium after Anil Kumble said their effort showed what the team is all about. "This is what the No. 1 team can do. We have lots of self-belief and that's why we are the No. 1 side. We enjoy each other's success. When I got my hundred everyone was in the balcony to support me. That was a great sign."

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori was happy with the return. "We want to reflect on the positives and where we've been in terms of the tour of Bangladesh. We're happy with that, and content, but not satisfied because we couldn't finish the job."

He then pointed out the shortcomings. "There were a lot of factors, the wicket, bowlers not being able to penetrate on the last day and that we had very limited resources. Hopefully, people will take out of it the improvement that we've shown. The key is to now take the same performance to Hyderabad."
